continuation…interesting days

the trip to the airport that night was futile. obviously, we failed to   get our e-tickets. so we agreed to meet at 4 a.m. the next day at pal’s ticketing office at the airport. then, we all went our separate ways. arrived home a little past 11 p.m. rummaged my little cabinet to prepare my overnight pack and soon realized that my bag had torn "compartments???" ended up sewing my bag. this task took a wee bit longer than expected as i watched house while doing the task. got recently hooked with the said tv series and the next thing i new it was 4 a.m. received an sms message from nevergirl.slash.genius.slash.goddess that the four of them were on their way to the airport…whaaaaaaaatttttttttt???? i hastily packed my things and went for a quick shower. drank a glass of hot milo. brushed and left for the airport. i arrived at the airport quarter to 6 a.m. met the other four. had a quick breakfast of bunwich, donut, and coffee. talked and then learned that i busted my digicam. earlier i went to the airport’s john and hung my bag by the cubicle’s door. it slid off from the hook and hit the floor. i didn’t realize that i packed my cam at the bottom part of my bag. when now-married-programmer asked about my mission, i offered to show him pictures instead. it was only then that i learned that my cam’s lcd broke from the fall. darn, my cam was barely 2 years old and i had to scrimp on food for a few months in order to get it. double darn. well, charged <to experience>. so much for my looking forward to take numerous pictures of makati’s skyscrapers. on the bright side, "vet, you get to travel and ride on the country’s flag carrier for free <hahaha, obvious na cheapskate traveler–maghulat ug piso fare sa cp, hehe>.?"

at a little past 8 o’clock, we landed at the ninoy aquino centennial airport. Vetchin_arrival hopped on a taxi and headed to makati palace hotel.Chinvetciodon  a few minutes after arriving at the hotel, we wVetchincio_taxiere treated to a sumptuous buffet breakfast at caesar’s coffee shop Caesars_coffee_shop inside the hotel. it was the best breakfast i’ve had in all my 28 years of existence. immediately after, our boss met us for a meeting. the meeting lasted for more than an hour after which our boss blurted out that we could have the afternoon off to go shopping Shopping and be back at the hotel at 4 p.m. to prepare for dinner at the shangri-la hotel. whaaattt???? did we hear him right??? so the afternoon off was actually to give us the chance to make ourselves presentable. hahaha, our boss couldn’t tell us that mga yagit ra kaayo me for the evening’s event. so moron that we were not, we took the hint and spent the afternoon hunting for clothes at sm mall of asia. unfortunately, looking for clothes wasn’t really my thing that i developed the mother of all headaches. i ended up buying the first slacks that fit my waist! <LOL!!!> after buying the stuff we need, nevergirl-slash-goddess-slash genius and i grabbed a quick lunch in the hopes that nourishment after hours of checking out stores would ease my headache. it didn’t. with a nasty headache, we went back to the hotel and hurriedly change for the evening’s dinner. had the first glimpse of makati traffic going to ortigas center. arrived at the edsa shangri-la hotel, and wow! the place was fantabulous. definitely not our league. the place was enormous and shouted elegance at its finest. when we got to one of the hotel’s function room, we were greeted with men and women at their very finest. <finest - taking the perspective of someone used to dressing up with just a pair of denims and a shirt> the men were all wearing their best business suits while the women were also well-dressed. it was a good thing that we took the hint earlier. 5p2k Doncio Donedwin Chivet All5_1

interesting days…

the past week has got to be the most interesting week for me.
first off, i stayed in the office from sept. 7[friday] to sept. 10[monday]. haha, i’ve to finish something and catch up on my back log. going home was not an option to me as i hate to be interrupted when my brain is on the roll. i only stepped out of the office to get a quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner. as for shower, well - a person can be creative when presented with a similar situation. anyway, my initial target was to finish work before lunch of sunday. but alas, my tired body claimed its much awaited rest. at 2 a.m. i dozed off and didn’t wake up until 10 of sunday morning. freshened up myself and went back to my station to work. after an hour in front of the monitor, my stomach aired its complaints. heck, why wouldn’t it grumbled when i forgot that i didn’t have dinner the previous night and didnt have any plans of grabbing breakfast. against my brain’s will, i stepped out of the office to get myself some brunch. i logged out. heard an error beep. thought that the computer must have read my card twice, thus, the error beep. left the office. grabbed brunch. voila, when i returned to the office, i couldn’t get in as there was an error. now what? luckily, one of our employees lives just a few paces away from the office. went to his house and asked if he could come with me and use his ID to log in and thus, open our main door. unfortunately, he too got an error message and couldn’t open our door. tough luck. i didn’t have my phone with me as i left it on my desk. i could go to another officemate to borrow his/her ID, but it’s impossible as i was as penniless as a beggar. i used up the last money in my pocket for lunch. i couldn’t withdraw from the nearby ATM machine as i don’t carry wallets with me around and my card holder is in my bag, which i left in the office. go figure.

so, i asked my officemate to call his sister and have pink dimples contact firefoxiscool. i waited for like an hour or so before the office was finally opened. i ended up finishing the whole work at 5 a.m. the next morning. at around 5:30, i left the office and came back to work at a little past 9.

as a reward to that gruelling weekend, i, together with two other officemates, went to grab dinner at the parklane hotel. well, i’ve always wanted to try out fancy places even just once. so another suicide dinner for me. overall, the food treat/selection at manuel’s wasn’t as extensive as the other buffet dinner i’ve tried, but they’re good nevertheless. or i’m just a sucker for any crepe recipes that i can total forget what i’ve had before the dessert.

moving forward to tuesday. the day was as ordinary as it can be, until i returned to the office from a quick dinner at a little past 7 p.m. firefox iscool greeted me with, ”vet, mk wants us to fly to manila. he wants to have a meeting with the five of us at 11 a.m. tomorrow.” i was like, what????? don’t you realize what time it is? it’s past 7 p.m., airline booking agencies are closed or about to close for the day. there’s no way we can get tickets at this hour. anyway, our pseudo-boss called to tell us to find all means to get ourselves to manila.

we tried online booking and realized that flight date should at least be 24hours from booking date to be processed. thus, we tried calling all airlines servicing the cebu-manila route. then soon-to-be-married-programmer was able to connect to pal’s manila booking office and successfully booked a flight for five. our flight to manila was at 6:45 a.m. the agent told stbp that we could get and pay for our e-ticket at their ticketing office at the airport that night. thus, past 9 p.m, we went to the airport only to find out that the ticketing office doesn’t run a 24-hour service.
